Measurement
The first step in installing the ceiling is measurement. The guide we are jotting down is of a drop ceiling. This fake ceiling will be a suitable choice if the height of your room is high. In the drop ceiling installation, you need to measure the width and length of your ceiling. Make sure you carefully measure the dimensions of the area. These measurements can help you cut the material according to it. After measuring the size of the ceiling with a measuring tape, you need to write down the dimension in a notebook.
After measuring the room ceiling, you need to draw a line almost five inches below the old covering. This line will tell you the height of your room after installing the fake ceiling. You can increase or decrease the distance of the drop ceiling according to your desire.
Cut wall angles
In this step, you need to cut the wall angles according to the length and size of your ceiling. You can use tin snips to cut the wall angles. These wall angles help in supporting the ceiling tiles.
Screw the angles
After cutting the wall angles, now is the time of attaching them to the wall. You can use an electric screwdriver to screw the wall angles on the wall. You have to secure the screws on the line below the old ceiling.
Cutting and installing grids
In this step, you need to cut the grids in the length of your ceiling. Cut the grids with pin snips and install them. You can use clips to attach the strips. Screw the grids together.
Hang the runner
Now is the time to hang the runner. You need to attach the wires with the joist. The attached wires will hold the ceiling. Try to clip the wires securely with the runners.
Ceiling tiles
In the last step, you will attach the ceiling tiles and cover the runners.
